funny you say.. I had my rover tow'd from the dealer over to Rob's place yesterday! whoohoo! Great guy! It was nice to get a "vibe" from someone who genuinely gave a crap about my vehicle! Thanks for the info!

I don't post often but it sounds like your are in good hands.

An inspection of the vehicle should memorialized in a report. Your attorney needs an expert witness.

That said the dealership Should have followed troubleshooting procedure. Already said here is the well known oil pump failure. When the oil pump fails internal components sustain damage caused by friction. Should this be the case the damage will evident even to the untrained eye.

The dealership is well aware of the oil pump defect. Land Rover North America I understand has been successful in avoiding accountability.

Sounds like you've got good counsel and a good mechanic.

Best wishes to you.

Hi all! Thanks so much for all the feedback! I can't thank you enough! I have decided to fight this on my own through small claims court. I can "try" to sue up to 10k which would be enough to find a used engine and have it installed. I REALLY dont want to loose my Rover I had a 'meltdown' watching it being towed from the dealer over to the new "shop.".. such a girl! ugh! Anyway, thanks again! Your information has opened my eyes to a lot of other things. Hoping things go my way and I get my Rover back soon

im sure if you sue for the cost of the inital repairs, and the cost of a replacement and labor you should win. as long as you have the written corespondance to back it all up. when you get it back up and running come visit again, this forum is a good resource for people who want to be educated about what they are driving whether or not they work on the truck themselves.
