HOT Engine compartment
I just purchased a 99 Range Rover 4.6 HSE. I had to drive about 70 miles home and everything went fine. I have had it parked for about 3 hours and the engine compartment still seems to be hotter that one would expect. Is this normal?
I've had my 1996 discovery for about two months now and it does seem to run at a much higher temp than other eights ive had,and also hold the temp longer but it is still running strong so at this point i'd have to say it is normal.
There is a reason that is like that. It is an aluminium block engine, not iron. Iron would hold that heat, aluminum dissapates heat into the engine compartment. Basic physics at work here.
