Using the $250 Seek Thermal camera that plugs into your smart phone, you can see a fair representation of things. These were taken just a few minutes after crank up from cold. Warm water moving in heater core lines and throttle body return line. Top radiator hose still cold because stat has not opened. And a good reason to buy quality plug wires... it is hot where they live near the exhaust plumbing.

Of course you can use this camera to see in the dark for wild life or zombies. If a bad guy is scouting your area you can see him. Or find a person down in the woods. Or lots of other things around the house, or at work, etc. They make an extended version that will focus and has longer range, but factory told me the base model is best for up close.
