Default How reliable is your LR?

Hey guys, Hopfully I am posting this in the right section. If not, I am sorry and sorry for taking up a spot. But my question is, well I plan on getting a, lets sayLand Rover Disco (01-04, 40-100k mi). And I plan on driving a one way trip from here (Texas) to Virginia, with a Yamaha R1 (400lbs) on a trailor,I want to knowifmy chances are of making it their with satisfaction are pretty good. Would you recomend? I only ask because a few friends said their reliabilitywas terrible and they have horrible electrical problems. I have high hopes of getting a Rover, I would just like to hear from some owners with their prior expierance if they have had problems with reliability, etc..
All input is very much appreciated, thanks everyone and take care.

There is no reason to think you would have any problem.
I have done a number of long tows with up to 4000 pounds with no issues.
What are you planning on using the truck for, have you done a lot of wheeling in the past?

This is actually going to be my 1st SUV, prior to that was a 02 wrx. I'm pretty uneducated when it comes to 4 wheels. But, I plan using it as a daily driver through out the winter because I will bemakingoccasional trips to New England- Virginaiaand without a doubttowing my motorcycles during the spring and summer. But one of my reasons why my head is pounding for a Land Rover is to do some off roading! I'm hooked after tagging along with some friends for the first time, thought I would get something worthy. But I am just concerned on how well it would put out as a daily driver? My firstthought was that they were pretty much bullet proof, but then I started getting info that they often have there issues (just like anything else I imagine).

If maintained, you should have little trouble.
How mechanical are you, this will help in keeping any repairs down.

I would'nt hesistate taking my Disco on any length of trip. It's always gotten me to where I wanted to go in situations much more extreme than usual as well.
