Is there a "bench test" (my husband used this term) for a 99 RR door latch? We are trying to see if that is the problem or the outstation. He has removed the door latch, and we ordered a new one, but that one is Bosch for the 2000 and it seems my 2000 RR has a 1999 door latch -- and headlights, but that's a different story, something about it being midyear and factory changes ....
Anyway, is there some way he can test this?

I have no idea how to test a door latch.
The new latch should work just fine.

 

We were trying to test the old one to see if it even was part of the problem. It wasn't.

 

What is going on, if we knew what the problem was maybe we could help.
