I am totally at a loss
Auto zone said the check engine light must be active to read the problem. Well, the 2002 discoveryII will go about 3 miles after starting (running great) then the engine light will come on at the same time the truck stalls and can not be restarted. Leave it set for an hour or so and it will start and run for another 3 miles before a repeat happens. What should I check? Help would sure be appreciated. thanks Mike
Check the basics: Battery connections, sensor connections - Cam, Crank, MAF. Look for loose or corroded Ground connections. What you describe sounds like a connection going open when it gets warm.
Go back to AutoZone and buy a new crank sensor, then install it.
To the people who went the extra mile to give me insight into what my landrover problem could be- I say thank you over and over again. I will let you know what transpires after the fix is made. I will be trying the sensor solution first.

Like I keep saying, before you buy the part, test your old sensor to verify it is bad. Wait until it dies, then test it when it is supposedly not working. I hate to see people spend money on non-broken parts.
