Hi guys! I'm new to Rovers and new here. I just did an intro. I'm searching for ignition coils but did not find an answer to my question here. So I'm looking to replace some things on a new to me 2001 D2 and I ran into two coils on Pep Boys. They're having a 25% off labor day sale so I want to get some parts now. But they have two ignition coils.

One coil is like the ones I see on here with terminals for the spark plug wires to go into and is $48 after coupon.

The other is all sealed up and is $193ea and it says I need two.

Can you guys clarify for me please? Sorry if it's obvious but I'm new to the D2. Only two weeks in. I'm trying to cross reference with RAVE but I can't find the latter coil. Thanks guys!

 

You need two coils. They look like this: LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 2 1999-2004 IGNITION COIL SET OF 2 NEW ALLMAKES4X4 ERR6045

Grab them for anywhere from $45-$70 for a set. $400 is ridiculous. Spend the difference on a new set of plug leads instead.


Your REAL trouble will start when you come to installing them...
