Default Ignition prob and up hill prob and brake issue??

Have an 89 Def 90.

Problem is sometimes and not always the engine wont fire up. Has a new starter but when I turn the key there is nothing and then a click but no cranking over. Sometimes it takes a few turns of the key and it catches, sometimes longer. Is is the ignition or anyone recognize the symptom?

Also,

Keeping in mind I am completely new to 4X4, it seems to me that when in first going up any kinda slope there is next to no power. Just feels like no torque and that its gonna roll back down sooner than go up the hill!!!!! Anything I should be checking on there? The engine is sound and the transfer box was rebuilt just before purchase.

Finally,

I just did the front brakes and rotors, but she seems kinda slow to respond now......like I have to put brake down harder. Front brakes so do they need to be bled?...if so how..? Not much of a mechanic but willing to learn!!!!!!!!

Heat on the thing sucks but have been told thats normal?....But when I run for long periods of time engine temp goes way up.hasnt overheated but thinking this is the thermostat or how do I know if the rad is fecked?

Any help greatly appreciated cus I need to get her on the road before I lose the rest of my hair in despair!!!

The truck was rescued from a kinda crook who kinda misinformed me about the offroad usage (Always nice to learn things the hard way!!!), so Im kinda panicked that I have a lemon on my hands here!!!!

You always do a complete brake bleed when changing brakes. Your old fluid is probably old and burned, turning brown and eating up all your seals, so bleed it till all the old fluid is gone from each caliper, probably around 3 pints.
