I did have a misfire on cylinder 5,6, and 8. I think they were just trying to take advantage of me because I'm young. The bottom line is they should be well aware that discoverys are vulnerable to slipped liners and should be able to diagnose that after they replace everything above the short block and coolant is still getting into the cylinder. They must be either blind or retarded to not figure that one out. It makes me so damn mad every time I think about it. And they are only willing to negotiate a refund AFTER I file a lawsuit against them. Poor customer service and a mentally handicapped owner, they have it all.

I found Luke on google while in Kentucky for some military training. He's a certified Land Rover Master Technician who was at the dealership for 7 years before starting his own shop. He was able to quickly track down an oil leak and engine light issue that my specialty mechanic in Ohio hadn't been able to solve in two and a half years. He had my Disco II in and out quickly, gave me a ride to and from work that day, was really reasonably priced and overall just a really cool, down-to earth dude. He has a nice Disco trail rig and invited me to go wheeling when I get some time off. We mainly talked Rovers, but he's also factory trained on Volkswagens and Benzes....

Rob and his assistant are amazing. I went in for a quick diagnosis and both of them stopped what they doing, whipped out the laptop, connected it to my Disco I, and crawled all over the thing until they found out what was wrong. The price is good, not cheap... but good. Rob knows his stuff. If you're in the Albuquerque area and need service, Call Rob

Another one for the capital district of NY:

The Gas Menagerie
1627 5th Ave. Rear
Troy, NY 12180
(518) 272-3087

Went to them when I lived in NY and had him reset the base idle on my D1.
Haven't been there in a few years, but thought I would add to the list.
