Daytime driving .... no lights on. CD/radio and AC controls lights are brilliant 100% illumination, speedo, tach, temp and gas and trip led have no illumination. Turn switch on to running lights and CD-AC illumination dims to about 50-60% and dash has maybe 10%?? Switch to full lights no change, so it makes daytime driving difficult when you can't read/see gauges. Night driving (lights on) is better but still not what they should be. The trip OD is never lit.

Just acquired this rig so I have no history I can rely on. Any help as to where to begin to look would be appreciated.

check the dimmer switch. the connector is behind the instrument bezel. pull out all the screws and check the connector. If it has full power and ground then put a new switch in.

 

Dimmer does appear to work, but will check and replace as indicated.
