K&N filter
Some people say it will kill your MAF sensor some don't think it will.
Its a Hot topic.
I have seen a MAF sensor die and they had a K&N air filter in it but I don't know if thats what killed it.
I have no first hand info on mine.
With what has been said here and the other forum that I'm on with a different car they say that it will kill the MAF sensor but then I still have not had a K&N in mine due to the cost of MAF sensors.
You will have a lot of different ideas posted soon.

The only advice I would give is that it is not worth the risk.
My 2003 Discovery II never had any issues (OK, except for the 3 amigos (ABS Modulator) that cost me $2,000 to replace) but other than that, NO issues at all until the day after I installed my new K&N air filter.
I called K&N custormer service after talking to my mechanic, and they promised me there is no way their filter caused any problems. The refered me to their website that address the issue and how it is impossible for their filter to damage the MAF sensor. Despite their positive hype - it is hard to deny the fact my MAF sensor went haywire and needed replacement within about 20 miles of driving with my new K&N Filter.
My independent LR mechanic in Denver, CO advised me that he replaces alot of MAF sensors right after a K&N filter install. In fact, when I called him and told him I was getting a MAF code - the very first thing he asked me is if I put a K&N Filter in it... Now that's confidence!
If you want to go ahead and try one - let me know. I just happen to have one brand new in the box (only used for 20 miles) that I will sell ya very cheap.
