Default Land Rovers "buyer beware n other concerns"

I'm interested in purchasing a Land Rover an wanted to get advise from owners who could point out any major mechanical complications or other expenses that accompany owning a Land Rover.

Are the BMW models more reliable than the Jaguar?

Are there expensive repairs that come up beyond the 100,000 mile mark

Can you sugest a good place to begin my search for a quality LR?

Thanks in advance!

The best place to start would be specifying a model you want. The 4.4 jag motor is better than the BMW. The jag came on the LR3s, Range Rover sports, and the later full size(I believe 06' and later but don't quote me).

If you can't do the work yourself, expect large maintenance repair bills. I believe even an Indy shop charges over 1k for a brake job on an lr3.

I'm sure others will chime in, but for specifics you need to choose a model.

I would only recommend a Land rover to someone with a big toolbox or big wallet it is going to take one of them to keep it running. jmho
