Default What is a alternative to land rover?

I really want a land rover but everyone i know is saying they suck and are expensive to repair and are so unreliable. Yet other people ive talked to say they are very reliable and are one of the best vehicles out there. I dont know what to think could someone list some alternatives or something lol. i want the discovery or the range rover. ICarScan VCI

80 series Toyota Land Cruiser is, to me, analogous to the Discovery. Both have live axles front and rear, coil sprung, disc brakes all around (for the 93-97 Land Cruiser), four-speed automatics, full-time 4WD, and an engine that does the job without excess. The LC is fitted to seat seven, while the Discovery can be optioned that way.

They both have their issues. The later 1FZ-FE engine in the 93-97 LCs have had head gasket problems. The 80-series LC tend to have more miles on them, are older, and generally more expensive to purchase compared to a Discovery (Series 1 or 2).

Both are very capable and still have good parts support.

As for the Range Rover, I assume you are talking about the P38? A lot of the above applies to it, too.
