How many miles on the engine?
What oil are you using and how often do you change it?
Are you using premium fuel?

You need to change oil, 10w-30 is to thin for these engines, especially during the warm weather.
I use and swear by Shell Rotella 15w-40.
Try that and see what happens, worse case you're out the cost of a oil change.

Try a good 15w-40 oil like shell rotella, but most likely , if your'e convinced the noise is coming from the valve-train. it's probably a worn rocker arm and/or rocker shaft. I chased a tick for a while before I found a rocker arm that the steel insert for the pushrod had loosened up and made the racket only after the engine had warmed up.

I agree, go with a heavier oil, not to fix the tick but because the engine needs it.
As for your tick, go to the D2 section, look at a sticky I posted for valve train noise, read it, then send me your number and lets talk.
