Default loosing oil!

Hi you all there!

I bought 2003 discovery with 180 000 km on it.Im loosing engine oil about 0.5l for 400 km.I did pressure test one of cylinder it reads about 132 rest of them 138-140,could it mean it burning oil? What would be normal pressure?
Steering pump is leaking, there are some oil on the engine,im thinking its coming from steering pump, there are no oil on the ground,no tripping whats so ever! There is no oil inside torque converter!
What you guys think where all that oil might go?Head gasket, front main seal, bad piston rings?Sry my English.

If it's not leaking, visibly. Then it has to be burning it. I'd try a different viscosity of oil or brand for high mileages engines (through the mileage on yours isn't extreme by any means).

Edit...couple questions...have you owned since new and did this issue just start recently or has it been getting worse over time?

I can change oil,I'm running rotella 15w 40,what oil should I use?I bought it about 5 month ago,it had broken transmission.I have been driving with it just 2 month, and been loosing oil from the beginning.
What about oil pressure sensor, can it cause oil loss?

Not very many places to go, since that is pretty thick stuff your using. Granted, l run 20W50 (manufacturers recommended weight) in my 928's...but they never see temps below 50° F.

Without a previous history, you really have nothing to go on...besides assuming it was run out/low on oil, overheated terribly or rode hard and put away wet during its lifetime.

Only if it leaking through/around sensor itself, which, you said you aren't seeing any dripping under vehicle...so it's not likely. This type of usuage, if exteral, would cause a mess.

Me, I'd bump it up to 20W50 and see if consumption changes at all. Or if you have some 5W30 laying around, throw that in and see if issue gets worse.
