Okay, I have had this problem for a little while, and it's starting to freak me out. I recently took it to my mechanic who says he can't figure it out. i have a 2000 LR Discovery Series II @ 84,600 miles.

The problem happens when I turn off the engine, sometimes I lose power, and when I try to turn it back on, only the ABS light comes on, but nothing else. I have to keep turning the key over, and setting the alarm, and disarming it, until finally I make the alarm go off, and finally then it will turn back on. This sometimes can take a minute or 2, and sometimes 15-30mins. I don't know if it has anything to do with a recent code of P705 Transmission Range Sensor Malfunction, or if I need a new starter or ignition sensor switch.. I am new to LR, and to this vehicle, so I need major help. I have the service manual, but my nearest dealer is over 120miles away. Please anyone help me!
