Lower A/T cooling line/hose repair question

Default Lower A/T cooling line/hose repair question

Lower A/T cooling line/hose ruptured on the hose part. I don't see any type of clamp on the rubber hose part so I'm guessing I have to replace the entire line? Do I need to remove the radiator to replace? Here's a pic. It's a 2002 disco.

I do not think you need to remove the radiator. But the connection is a booger to release. there is a tool available that works on these, looks something like this:

Changed the line and now when I put it in gear... nothing. I'm hoping this is just because I need to add fluid since some was lost. Would it not recognize being in gear at all if really low on fluid?
