LR2 not starting after jump
We tried to jump our 2009 LR2 but the first try did not work (stuttered but not enough juice). We let it sit a little longer and when we tried to start it again nothing happened. The battery is charged because the electrical system works (lights on dash, radio will turn on, etc) but the key fob/start button does nothing. Has the security system shut the car down (does it think it was stolen)? Any help would be appreciated.

When a battery id low enough to not start the vehicle, jump starting it, may be driving around the block once, will not charge the battery. Yes your lights might work, they are working off the surface charge of the battery, but for a proper charge your battery needs to be put on a good charger for 2 or 3 hours and then tested before you can depend on it.

I'm betting its a alarm issue.
But a battery charger on it like Mike said, charge it over night and then try to start it.
The alarm remembers the last setting it was in when the battery went dead, if you opened a door the alarm thinks you were trying to steal it.
With these super smart cars usually only the dealer can help you.

Thanks to all for their responses. Unfortunately, the car is on the side of the road about 10 blocks from our house. We tried to jump it again, this time keeping the donor car hooked up for at least 20 minutes. We can unlock/lock the doors and the key is accepted into the slot but the start/stop button does nothing. We even pulled the fuses for the alarm and the start/stop button but to no avail. So, it is being towed tomorrow. It has been at the dealer 3 times for the same dead battery problem. They keep telling us it is a software issue where the bluetooth stays on after the car is shut down. Obviously, that isn't the issue since they keep "fixing" it. What a pain.
