Default LR3 Prop Shaft Bearing

The rubber around my prop shaft center bearing is torn so I ordered a decent used prop shaft one to replace, for now.

My question is this.... is there a product that I can work into the rubber around the bearing that will bring any suppleness back to the rubber so this center bearing doesn't suffer the same fate? Petroleum jelly? Silicone?

Thanx...

Did a bag load of research at work last night and found that glycerin and/or silicone grease work well to rejuvenate rubber seals. Going to give the glycerin a try and will report back.

Please do. Stupid failure for a driveshaft that is not meant to be repaired!
