LR4 w R1234YF A/C problems
first rover, LR4 HSE 2015 built jan 2015
seems i got ambushed after discovering 2015 LR4 uses R1234 YF refrigerant. Apparently this crap costs 60 bucks for 12 oz and only came in several years of rovers. My AC is blowing warm at 77 degrees out side, cooler on highway, cleaned coils, 75K miles, well maintained, was thinking low on charge, went to hook guages up and BANG got the big surprise. fittings for sale on e bay 30 bucks.
Can a 1234 system be converted back to 134A?
Are they frigging serious ?? almost 75 $ per pound??
truck is less than a week old to me should i return it??? i dont want to deal with this **** repeatedly, i want to drive it and not wrench on it. I wrench all day long.
Whats the down n dirty on R 1234 going back TO 134a? drain evacuate, purge, refill w new dryer????? Im stuck on this one.
ANY help appreciated, I like this thing but not enough to pay ransom or lifetime alimony on it.....
