Default My First Disco

I just bought a 96 SE7. ITs in pretty good shape with a few issues that I hope someone can help me with.
First there is no owners manual. So I am kinda lost.

First isse is the Anit Lock light is lit up.

Neither moon roof opens

and non of my interior lights work Obviously it could be the bulbs.

Other then a couple of clicks and creeks its great. Its a little slow off the line but that is pretty normal isnt it?

Those are your only "issues"?????? Those are not issues my friend, those are minor inconveniences

Download the RAVE manual...the owner's manual will just tell you to go to the dealer any time you have a problem. Look in the "How to" and "Write Up" section and get your service up to date.

Does your Anti-Lock light turn off after you get up over 5mph? If it doesn't, you'll need to get the code read to see what is wrong.

And don't plan on racing too many folks in your Disco....well, you can race all you want, just don't plan on beating anyone, except maybe another Disco with a flat tire.

Got a scanner read from Advanced Auto parts and its a p1172 which I think says its too rich? Clean a MAF? what is a MAF - funny thing is I just passed smog here in Atlanta 2 days ago Whew~!
Also my Anti Lock light is still on. Any way to clean the codes? Time to change the air filter?
Any suggestions welcome

maf is your mass air flow sensor located right behind the filter box.
youll see its wired into the intake.
as for it being too rich youll need to change the o2 sensors.
and to the abs light being on, usually if you leave the car in park, let it run for a minute or two itll go away. dont expect to get in start it up and take right off.

Make sure to keep running Premium fuel, these engines require the good stuff.

Since you have a DI you can clean your MAF. AutoZone sells MAF cleaner, then just use a stiff brush to get it clean.

The ABS light is supposed to turn off after you hit 5 mph. If it staying on all the time, you'll need an ABS scanner to get the codes and figure out what's wrong. Find an indie Rover mechanic in your area and figure out what's wrong. Clearing codes without reading them will get you into trouble here

And since it's a new-to-you Rover start working your way through DiscoMike's 60K service....
