Default Need help with Disco 200 tdi

Dear members,
I have problems with stopping my engine. In the morning it starts well and stops well, except for 1-2 problems with stopping the engine, but when I park my vehicle in the garage, I can't stop the engine (it is happening everyday), I have to use my gearbox to stop it. Please help, if you had smth like this.

If it ticks over fine and just doesn't die when the key is turned then the stop solenoid in the injection pump is faulty - replacements are about £10 IIRC from these guys http://www.famousfour.co.uk/new_part...p;eng=e_200tdi (search for FF001281 on that page)and you can fit it yourself in about 30 minutes (if you really mess about with it and take your time that is)

If the engine is racing like your foot it flat on the accelerator and won't switch off when you turn the key, then it's consuming it's own engine oil, usually caused by imminent turbo failure or severely worn rings - prepare for a new engine.

Most likely cause is the stop solenoid - and it's definitely the cheaper fix.

Cheers,

Hope that helps,

You should have started a new question under the Discovery secion but here is a fast answer, there is no drain for the coolant on a D2. You must remove a line at the t/stat and let it drain, then refill and make sure to bleed out all the air from the engine thru the bleed screw on your upper radiator hose.
As for your ABS lights, you must find a mechanic who has a lap top type scanner that access your ECU to find and clear those codes.
