See attached - it is an ABS sensor plug. So.... your ABS is not showing lights or codes???

no lights or codes. but, the breaks haven't acted normal since i bought it. it sometimes feels like i have HORRIBLY warped rotors, and sometimes feels fine. i'll go out and inspect a little closer.

What lights come on when you crank up the truck at the initial 3 second bulb test? See attached page from owners manual, if you don't have the whole set of manuals, free download below, called the RAVE.

brake light comes on, then extinguishes. works with the ebrake also.
i traced out the wire that on the drivers side goes to the plug. on the passenger side it comes up into the engine bay, then goes into the fire wall. is there a chance this is just extra? can any other '03 base model owners take a look?

Does (ABS) light come on at self test also? If not, would wonder why.

yep, ABS comes on, then off after 3 seconds also.
my other thought would be it had a problem at one time and the PO bypassed the wiring harness. whoever owned it knew a bit about rovers, as all the "do this when you buy it" stuff had been done already when i bought it, ie. front driveshaft.
thanks

The "updated" ABS sensors are hard wired to the ABS computer inside the truck, so maybe that was done?
