Hello All:

Just got a 2008 LR2 with relatively low (75K) miles, and the
engine light has come on-Not the red one-

Reading over the manual, it says not to put low-grade gas in it.
I filled up today for the first time, and I put medium grade in it-
The light came on before the fill-up, so does anybody think there
might be a connection to the gas? I have no idea what was in it before.
The book says is something to do with the emission being off, does
that sound right? I hope I haven't bought a big problem. I've always
wanted an LR, and I like this smaller body size.

Nobody is open tomorrow because it's labor day, and I don't want to
mess anything up.

Thanks!!!
Jerry

You won't really know what caused the light until you have the code(s) read. Any auto parts store will be able to read them for you, and then you can look up what they mean/
The gas grade on its own won't cause codes, but it could indirectly cause issues with various emissions components which could cause codes to spring up. Unlikely that it caused this situation though, given that the light came on before you did anything.
