Default no power to rear wheels

ok, strage question here, i don't know where to start so here goes...my truck is a 1990 disco with about 73,000 miles on it. i have the usual hill decent /abs/ traction control lights on but this is not my problem. my problem is i have no power to the rear wheels. front wheels are pulling fine, abs still works and all of that. just curious if anyone knows a good place to start looking. i have the factory service manual but its not really helping with out a computer to hook up the rover to. is the rear drive line controlled by any kind of electrical sensor? any ideas would be appreciated greatly. thanks for the time, joel

If your rear drive shaft is turning but the rear wheels have no power, you have a broken rear diff, it gernaded itself, most likely the spider gears let go. Kind of a common thing with Rovers cause they use such a light duty diff. You may want to consider buying a good guaranteed used 3rd. member from,

If you have any questions, send me your tele number and I will call you after the game Sunday evening.

thanks for the input. i was wondering if that was possible. the funny thing is that it made no noise or pop at all at any time. you would think it would clunk a bit. i have built and wheel samurais for many years so tearing down the diff won't be a big deal. i guess i will start there. i may give you a call if i have any more questions. once again thanks for the help, joel
