Noise in rear of LR3
I figured out the Clanging noise on our new LR3. it comes from these pendulum looking metallic weights just inboard on both sides of the mufflers. If i swing the left one it makes a loud thunk like metal on metal. The other side doesnt. I've read in other threads its used as a sort of harmonic balancer to cancel out noise. I've also read another story about them as well, In that they, the doors are so water tight that they are needed to assist you in closing the doors. At any rate if any of you are having this clanking problem it looks like an easy fix and is nothing more than an annoyance everything else on the car is great. we've had it two days. the seat is gonna need to be looked at but ive had this issue before with the disco II. The factory installed the seating bracket backwards and it took three trips to fix it but i got a nice loaner so, i didnt complain. I love the new LR3 it just has the usual little blips. This car is by and large however above the competition.

any plans for off road adventures?
any plans for off road adventures?
i always will make plans, especially at the last minute.
dad: son, where are you going?
son: over there, (points somewhere random)
dad: son, how are we getting over there? there isn't even a road?
son: dad, just watch, we are in a rover, we can make our own road. (drives through field of oil equipment and cattle.)
dad: wow, i can't believe we made it.
son: that's not my worry right now, i'm more concerned about the rancher sighting us in on his scope with his 30 ought 6 for trespassing, time to go!
it is 1:18 am and i have nothing else to do, so i made my own little story.
