Default OBD Scanners for LR and Toyota?

Is there a good scanner that will work with both vehicle brands? I own Land Rovers and Toyotas: DII ('99,'01,'03), FJ Cruiser ('08), 4Runner ('11), maybe an LR3 in the future. Also working on a '93 Chevy Silverado would be a bonus but not necessary. I am a novice when it comes to tech, but I want to learn and I want a scanner that can do it all. I've seen friends control air suspension, monitor O2 sensors and manipulate electronics, etc... Of course I also need to diagnose mechanical/electronic problems. What are your recommendations under $600 or so. Thanks!

I've got iCarsoft's CR Plus that works for on various car models.
I use it on my Disco, wife's BMW, and mother in law's Audi.
