Default The ol' manifold exhaust leak...

My 2004 discovery (4.6L) SE with 119K has within the last 3 weeks begun to have an engine/exhaust problem.

Description:
The engine makes a (tut-tut-tut) sound when started, and increases in volume upon accelleration. There is a very distinct exhaust smell coming from the area of the noise, the passenger side manifold.

I've did some homework, and am going to replace the manifold gasket. Then I will replace the manifold itself if that doesnt work.

This problem started when the oil level was low in the engine. I replaced the oil level, and it holds. I run synthetic oil and change the oil regularly.

If anyone has had this problem, and can shed some insight on my troubleshooting, it would be much appreciated. Included is a video with the audio of the sound, most distinctly identified at the end of the shoot, from underneath the downpipe.

Thanks! colganation@gmail.com is my email, and i will check back for posts...

It is very common for the exhaust bolts to work loose, tighten them back up and see what happens.
It is also common for the exhaust manifolds to crack, if thats the case it can be welded shut.
