overheating

Default overheating

hi, i was driving today and suddenly i could smell the smell of radiator water, i looked at the temp guage as it was in the red, i pulled into the next petrol station to see and the water was boiling i left it to cool before going on my way again, but i didnt get far till i had to stop again, so i left the rangie there and have just got back from collecting it and the same the temp is just shooting up the fan ia working and there was plenty water in it, has anyone had this problem or know what the problem might be, any help would be great, cheers
its a p reg range rover 4ltr.

Quit driving the damm thing or you will be buying a new engine by tomorrow.
First of all what year, model and mileage?

My moneys on a blown thermostat. But if you kept it running when that hot, and then let it overheat again[:@], you might have damaged some gaskets/seals. Check your passenger side floor board, any coolant to be found down there?
