Default Pack rat ate crankshaft position sensor wires 2003 Disco

My fuel pump quit working and my scan tool stated “permanent voltage failure”. I figured it was the CPS after replacing inertia switch. After crawling under the vehicle with new CPS in hand, I discovered a rat had chewed through the 3 wires above the connector, and connector was hanging loose.
My “BIG” question is whether an auto electric shop can re-splice these wires in the shop relatively easily? Due to a back issue, and lack of equipment to raise the truck on a lift, I can’t gain access.
Thank you!

If memory serves me one of the wires is a shielded cable that is not easily spliced

Looked at all 3, as they were attached to harness connector. Appear to be just “normal” wires. Since I have comprehensive insurance with a $50 deductible, I’m hoping they can get to them to repair???

I can't recall the Disco harness specifically, however most Hall-effect sensors require shielding to protect the signal from electromagnetic fields generated by high voltage ignition components. The ETM would seem to support the presence of shielding due to the inclusion of the gray dotted lines for the CKS and the two knock sensors. This doesn't mean it's not repairable, just that proper shielding needs to be taken into consideration and it's therefore slightly more complex.

And maintaining proper shielding means replacing the whole length of the coaxial cable, you can just "fix" or butt splice coax. The inner conductor needs to be completely shielded from outside electrical fields over its entire length. If not those electrical fields will overwhelm the small signal from the sensor leading to false readings and poor operation.
