www.drivewire.com (good prices, but high shipping . . . still worked out cheaper for D2 wiper blades at least)

www.rockauto.com (great prices, plus 5% discount code from www.retailmenot.com)

To follow up, I bought one of these shafts. It looked to be a quality shaft, complete with grease zirts and all. Easy bolt-on installation.

As it turns out, I will not be able to update the lifespan of the shaft; my wife totalled the Disco!

And, yes, she walked away without so much as a scratch! I love Land Rovers!!

I don't have actual numbers, but if you look on the sticker of a brand new car, it will usually show where it was assembled, where the engine was manufactured, and where the transmission was manufactured. If you can get all three of those to be USA, then that's a start.

Gee, with a Land ROver built in England, getting all US parts wll be a struggle. Same for BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Toyota, etc. The US auto industry, if it can't compete, should meet the fate of the television industry - is there a "made in USA " on your flat screen?

For minor stuff, I've had pretty good luck at the local auto parts chains. Probably not the greatest quality materials, but fair enough.
