I opened a Cooper this evening that had been on engine I bought.
The by-pass valve is in the dome end. I couldn't tell if the anti-drain back seal is rubber or silicone. I think rubber, but will check tomorrow in better light.

Well, I just heard back on the Land Rover genuine ERR3340, by-pass valve is in the dome end.

Not a sticky but added to the tech section.
I was trying to keep the DI page "clean" looking, the DII page looks like crap if you ask me.
