Default Petronix distributor wiring

I got a new Petronix distributor and coil. After reading the instructions they seem a bit vague and universal. This model eliminates the external amp module. So only two wires to hook up. Looking at the old wiring it looks like I can wire this thing directly to the old 2 wire plug (white w black stripe and plain white). From the looks of it they go directly to the old coil.

So is this all that's needed for the ECM to fire the injectors? This seems too easy. I feel like I'm missing something.

yup...too easy ..but true.....my understanding is that the "2 wires" go directly to the coil.....eliminating the oem amp module, the injectors receive their signal from the other feeds off of the coil....the ones that go thru the resistors in the old hard electrical tape....lol
I hope all goes well and you get all the bugs worked out.....I'm ordering mine next week

I'm going to order the "D175510" distributor and I already have the 40011 coil

That's the one I got too. The other option still has an external ign amp module. So I figured I'd do away w such a common failure part.

That's a good question. I'll open it up and check it out. Only thing I can do with one arm anyways.

I can't see any difference between the Lucas cap (right) and the Pertronix

Looks like there's a locating tang on the left cap that I don't see on the right one -- unless it's off the edge of the photo at the 3 o'clock position.
