Put battery in backwards...
I put the battery in backwards on a 1997 discovery 2.
The horn kept blaring until I disconnected it and realized what I did.
The alternator 100 amp fusible link blew, and the radio 10 amp fuse blew on the inside. I replaced them.
Problem is the vehicle now won't start.
Did I fry the computers? The starter cranks but it won't start. Theres power on the inside like normal.
But anyone know why it won't start? Do I need an OB2 reader?

Get out your manual and check all the computer fuses, ignition control, everything. I thought I had checked them all but being so many I missed one.
Pretty simple and not as scary as I thought. I will be testing the alternator with a meter in the daylight tomorrow. If the alternator isn't fried landrover installed some good safeguards.
After the computer adjusted to not having any power after about 5 minutes, it stopped running rough.
I'll keep you updated but I think it's fixed.
