‘02 Disco II won’t start
My Disco II won’t start. When the key is turned, the electronics turn on, but the engine won’t even turn over. I’ve tested the battery and it was fine. I’ve been under the impression that it’s been the alternator giving me problems, as I discovered the alternator fuse was blown, but I had a new alternator installed less than a year ago. I really don’t won’t to buy another one lol.

How did you test the battery? Battery voltage is only 1/2 the equation, your battery can have 12v resting but the reserve energy capacity and strength can be trash. You need a true load tester to verify battery health, not a multimeter.
Does the starter click when you try to engage it? If not, then you may have a bad starter. Has the car been sitting? Maybe you have a battery draw?

Troubleshooting procedure:
1. Noise when you try to start? Click? Yes or No? Yes - Possible low battery or bad connection.
2. No noise? Does the horn honk, do the headlights come on? Yes - battery and connections good.
3. No noise, good battery - truck is likely immobilized. Push rubber covered button on the firewall passenger side. Lock and unlock the truck 3 times with key or fob.
4. Still no love? Possible bad start. Turn it on, get under it, unplug the small black plug with the tan wire. lay a screwdriver between top lug on starter and the small tab. Be careful not to touch other metal. Starter should turn over. No? Put screwdriver between top lug and lower lug. Start? Yes - bad solenoid, No, Still not start? Bad starter.
