I am changing the engine on my 03 disco. Can anyone that has already done this give me pointers or tips so my kids won't hear me curse or bleed unnecesarily. I have already removed everything I think is needed but not sure if starter is bolted to block or through to tranny. Do the tranny oil cooler lines get in the way? All help and tips are greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

 

once you unbolt the brackets that hold the tranny lines to the oil pan the lines should be fine.
Put a jack under the engine and remove the motor mounts, this will allow you to drop the engine enough to get to the rear top bell-housing bolts.
