Default Radio Code Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got my Discovery back on the road, but now I need to input the code for the radio so I can listen to some music as I'm cruising. I got the serial number from the back of the radio as it's not the original radio and called LR here. They gave me the new code but it's not taking. Do you have to turn the radion on for a while before entering the code? What steps do I need to take here?

well when you turn the radio on it will say enter code you only have about 5 attempts before it locks itself then you will have to wait a couple of minutes and the numbers behind the radio are the correct ones its the last numbers then it should work right away

LR gave me the code from the serial number I got from the back of the unit. Not sure why it's not working; do you have to press another button before entering the 5-digit code?

no as soon as you turn the radio on it will ask you for the numbers then when it sees the correct ones it will switch over.

I had the same problem, i got the code, but it wasn't receiving it. I had to play with the radio's buttons, try holding down either the scan button, prgm button, or the up or down seek button. One of those, after holding it down will cause the radio to make a sound and go from a constant reading of "CODE" to a flashingreading of "CODE" put in the code, and the radio will cut on.

oh ya, i'd hold it down for at least 10 seconds, before moving to the next one.
