Radio removal and codes

Radio removal and codes
I did a serach for this on here, but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. Recently I replaced my Disco 1 battery, and in turing the key realized my radio now needed a code. I had this problem once before, and I believe I tookthe stereo out, found the number on the back, and punched it in. Problem is, I can't find the tools to take the stereo out (didn't come with my Rover, and last time I used the ones from my old Saab). So now I'm stuck driving around LA with absolutely NO sound, and while it was manageable at first, now it's just driving me mad. So, any thoughts on this? And can someone please verify that the code is on the back of the stereo, should I find a way to rip it out. Thanks!
Or, anyone in LA feel like driving by :-)

RE: Radio removal and codes
Normaly for security reasons the code will not be on the radio so you will need to write down the radio serial code that is stamped on the chassis , then go to a dealer for them to go onto Landrover to get the code,or go to some code breaker guy and part with some hard earned bucks ,its up to you

RE: Radio removal and codes
The codes are not on the back of your radio. If you are lucky, Rover may be able to call and get it from their supplier. If not, go back to the selling dealer and see if it was noted in the files of your truck. Eevn the selling dealer will sometimes list the code in the original purchase folder when it was sold.
