Radio stereo Snap Crackle Pop?
I have 2 rovers.. an 00 disco and 99 Range Rover... the range rover has the issue much worse but they both have the issue.. The ST icon comes on the screen and the radio makes these snap crackle pop sounds... so loud that you have to shut the radio off. the disco does this once and a while .. same thing with the ST icon but its not as bad or as often as the range rover. The CD XM radio (through the tape deck) work fine. Any ideas whats going on?
I believe that these are stock systems without any modifications.
I found this link but I think this is if you are adding amplifiers and such not the stock system 2008 (08) LANDROVER LR2 Radio / Stereo Installation Kit - Do your next car radio / stereo install yourself!

I'll toss a wild thought here. Loose antenna connection. If the radio is the only portion of your sound system making noise it could be a loose/bad antenna connection. From what you state, your cassette system seems to work fine and I'm guessing CDs sound good too. And this narrows it down to the tuner/antenna.
A new pioneer with USB jack in the front went in very well.. I found some very helpful wire color guides online and hocked it up and snapped it in with no problem. event modified the original cover to fill the spaces on the side.. $150 for some upgraded technology is way better then the scam the Rover Radio Guys Claim.
first they never even got back to me concerning the 3 email I sent asking for them to help me with the original head unit. I even emailed the guy in the UK and he stated they the US guys are very busy. Well good for them but they don't get my business. it was $189 plus shipping for them to look at the head unit.. if they could not "fix" it they would give you one they could "fix" for $389 which is much cheaper than $689 from landrover for a replacement head unit.
I say thank you best buy and I will use the $439 to fix my AC
