Reliability of Land Rover LR3?
My husband is a car salesman and they just got in a 2006 land rover Launch ICarScan Bluetooth Diagnostic Scanner with approximately 70,000 miles in and offered it to me fr $14,000. I would like to know people's true reccomedations. I realize repairs are more expensive but from experience how often are they in the shop? I have a 2006 ford fusion right now and I really want to get something that would be good for us starting a family soon. Resources would help. I have to convince my husband that this is a good idea.

You need to check out the LR3 section. There's a lot of information there. Some areas to be aware of are:
1) Compressor for air suspension.
2) Clogged moon roof drains.
3) Warped cowl at windshield (lets water into vehicle)
4) Leaks at A pillar (inexpensive fix).
I've had mine since July and it already had a new compressor installed. Also, when I drove it the AC wasn't blowing cold and they ended up putting in a new compressor. Since then I've had to replace the front lower control arms and tie rod ends. I have front wheel bearing hub assemblies on order as the bearings are starting to grind. Those aren't really problems, just maintenance/repair items.
The one you're looking at probably books for a little more than $14K (mine did) but I paid less than that. Mine had 79K on the odometer. You've already mentioned that you understand repairs will be more expensive (which they are) but even with that I love mine.
Get it checked by a good mechanic and if they come down some then pull the trigger.
