Default Replacing head gaskets - how to clean block
I'm ready to reassemble my '99 DII but am having trouble cleaning old gasket material from four corners of block. I've scrubbed with carb and brake cleaner and started using a razor but stopped when I saw aluminum filings. Any suggestions? I need to get the Rover rolling again!

The good ole wire brush did the job.
