Default Resetting the aladm

Help! I tried to unlock the door on my Discovery 2 with the key today and it would not unlock! The remote was busted when we bought the vehicle last year (not a battery problem, the entire casing is crushed and cracked). So we used a slim Jim to get the door open, of course that set off the alarm which I thought would be easily remedied by turning the key in the ignition.....not the case! Now she won't start and the alarm goes off every 30 seconds. I pulled the horn fuses so we aren't listening to it anymore. But from what I can gather, the only way to get this security system to deactivate is either with the key in the door or the remote. Which neither of those are an option for me! Help! Any other suggestions? (I'm a girl btw, so please bare with me). I so appreciate any and all help! TIA

Sounds like your door lock pin broke.

Best way is to open up the door panel, remove the exterior handle and insert a large Philips screwdriver into the door actuator receiver where the door pin would normally go. Turn counter clockwise and this will disable the alarm. My number is in my signature, you can call or text if you need more help.
