Default Rims

Guys I just bought a 2001 Disco and it is in great shape!! However when I washed it for the first time I noticed some very old brake dust build up on the rims. It felt like sand paper!! It looks like the dealer did the best it could in getting it off but it is on there good!! I guess the previous owner did not clean his wheels very often. I was able to get most of it off but still some there. Any ideas on how to remove this without damaging the finish on the wheel?

Hi !

Brake pad dust can be hard to remove in some cases. I would try a very hot (steam) power washer with no additives in the water to start with.

Takeo.

I used Goo Gone on mine and it slowly melted away! Leave it set for about 5 minutes and scrub a little and see if it is loosening it off.

I use Flitz metal polish. It takes it right off.
