01 LR Discovery, roof rails chipped and in need of paint. Should I just mask area and paint in place or are these rails easily removed? Thanks

 

I have some chips as well, and have contemplated tackling this. From all the information I have read, you do not want to remove the roof rails as it is a challenge to get them back on and get a guaranteed leak-proof re-install.

 

I would just mask and paint. Taking them out requires removing tons of trim and the headliner.
