Just as a update. I found the throttle body to be filthy and causing the butterfly to stick sometimes. That took care of the problem for the most part. I still want to clean the iac to be sure it's not gonna come back.

PS I now understand the Silver interior dilemma.

Do your self a favor and do as little to the IAC as you can, they are touchy and can fail when messed with.

Hmmm, had my IAC completely apart and soldered the four torn wires back on their posts, (broken stationary armature mount - plastic) re-pinned the case to the connector and voila' reacts as usual. I'd say their fairly stout even when old....... going on four years without issue and cold idles at 1k for about 5 seconds (like a choke) and then slowly settles at 650.

NP. I've had to paint tan ABS plastic grey or black depending on my mood when replacing interior guts. Seats - probably going bone yard special with whatever I can find that's grey and cushy for the touchy.
