So I wanted to tow my motorcycle trailer with my D1. And I know this might sound dumb, but I had no idea where to attach the safety chains and I still don't. Looks like there are two latching points on the frame rails in the back, but the chains are no where near long enough to reach.
I made same mistake today too not thinking about it. I'm trying to come up with an easy solution or ill just weld on some rebar or scrap rod to the hitches frame. So far I have not found any attachments that might work. Id use a clevis or a slip hook but both of those will have to be pretty damn big and might come back to same problem. Thought about just getting a couple tie down D rings with U bolts and attaching it to the cross bars of the hitch. So far I think welding on some rod would be easiest fix but not sure how much load it would carry.
Good idea.
I welded on some rod yesterday till wider hooks arrive. Only issue with long *** chains will be them being really long for other vehicles. I don't think I twist that much slack up.
