Default Satellite Radio Land Rover LR3

I have an 08 Land Rover LR3 SE, and I bought it without Satellite Radio. However now I would like to add Satellite, but Land Rover says that it can’t be added after the fact. I found out that you can buy a Satellite Receiver, which makes me wonder if the factory stereo is already Satellite Ready. Does anyone know? In looking a number of interior pictures for LR3s equipped with Satellite the radio is the exact same 6CD-465 (Alpine), and it doesn’t appear to have any special buttons specific to XM. If anyone has experience with this please let me know.

Talking Sat. radio?

The head unit (radio) is the same, but if your vehicle does not have the harness, it would be cost prohibitive. Your vehicle (08) probably does not have the harness, but if you want to check, remove the R/H cargo side panel, where the receiver mounts and look for a loose harness. ibis1

the unit has satelite radio module that is linked with the vehicle with the electrical system and the MOST system.

Talking Sat. Radio?

I neglected to tell you that if your vehicle is not equipped with factory navigation, you will also have to add a Sat. antenna. (shark fin is oem) After that the vehicle configuration file will need to be modified so the system will recognize your receiver. All this will be some what costly as compared to an aftermarket set up. ibis1

Default Sat Radio

Thanks for the info, it's very helpful. I'll check the R/H Cargo to see if the wiring harness is there. The top of the vehicle has a rubber plug where the factory Sat Receiver would go, so I was planning to remove to see if wiring harness was already installed.

Default xm adapter

Does anyone know if there is an adapter made to use xm radio through my sirius ready factory radio in my 08 LR3. I had one in my last vehicle that allowed you to adapt the factory sirius ready radio to play xm.
