Default Shifter stuck, brake fuse 2002 Disco 2

New Disco owner here, thought I would post a possible culprit for what starts off as a stuck shifter and a brake fuse that keeps blowing. After disconnecting the brake pedal switch, shift solenoid and glove box light (just in case) the fuse was still blowing when I jumped the connector on the brake switch. I went to check for loose wires, rubbing etc. on the factory tow connector rear of the vehicle. Didn't see any damage but when I opened the door on the tow connector I noticed quite a bit of moisture on the brass connectors. We had recently had quite a bit of rain so I took the sucker apart. Full of water and corroded don't know how it lasted so long, problem solved no more short.

Wanted to add I did replace the brake switch as well and a day later the fuse started blowing again. I removed both tail lights/stop lamps and when I removed the light on the back door there was a loose piece of metal in the bulb socket, this was shorting out the circuit. All is good now and bonus my cruise control works now!
