LR vs Mercedes dealers
Hey, Buzz. Good hose story; made me smile. Or is commiserate a better word?
I must admit that I've never had the misfortune of owning a Mercedes, so I'll have to trump your Mercedes hose story with another LR dealer experience. I took my 2008 Range Rover Supercharged in for service while still under warranty because it was low on power; always felt like it was dying to me, rather than supercharged, but that's a whole other story.
So, dealer had it for couple of wks, and of course, could find no trouble at all. Told me it "rides like a charm", although with English as my first language, I'm not exactly sure that is a correct idiomatic phrase. Anyway...
I pick it up, and proceed to drive off the dealer lot. I only got as far as the curb cut in the driveway; the Range lost drive completely. I was in drive gear, but my vehicle doing nothing. I was just kind of rolling into traffic on a main road. So, I put my foot on brake, and phoned the service dept a few feet behind me. Service advisors and techs came running to my rescue.
Best part of all...they decided that they wouldn't even attempt to drive the vehicle on the side street to their back lot. They advised it'd be best to get a tow around back. So, they rolled out another Rover to tow my Range!
Gee, thanks guys, but Range was safe enough for you to release to ME to drive home?? Glad I lost drive before entering traffic!!
Sometimes I think there is a LR Guardian Angel that watches over me...

Updated LR3 manual
Savannah, thanks for sharing this! Great stuff!
Any idea if this was exported as of 2003 like it seems to say? Unlikely since I think the first year of 2005, anyway, it would be good to know when this was exported. There seems to be a lot of things that changed over the year, and it would be good to know what we are working with. For example, I was checking out the service schedule to know what should be replaced when and it seems like the coolant is still showing as needed to be replaced every 10 years whereas the dealership just told me they replace it every 3 years and they follow the updated schedule. I'd like to see that updated one because apparently the 90K service will cost me $1K.... So.... I'd like to see what's in there and only get them to do what I don't want to do myself.

Hi,
new member on the forum and second post... I think I have checked most threads on the forum and it seems that none of the links are working anymore.
I found a shop manual for $200 online, which feels very very steep...
If anyone can help, I am looking for the Disco 2 2004 shop manual.
Thanks
