Default SLS removed battery draining

03 Discovery SE. ok, so I just removed my SLS and replaced it with coils about a month ago. After the install, my disco wouldn't start. I would jump start it and it became repetitive. The battery I had was the original (yes, 6 years old). Prior to replacing the battery I went to a Landrover mechanic (not the dealership) and he told me that he could shut the SLS system off but that it wasn't the cause of my battery dying. So I told him to hold off and needless to say I got a new battery anyway. The new battery (Gold-Duralast) has been working great for the past 2 weeks until yesterday. I was using a portable air compressor to pump some bike tires and once again the disco wouldn't start. FYI-I don't get the SLS icon in the dash lighting up anymore. Could it be the that because the SLS hasn't been turned off in the system that its draining my battery?! Please help! Thx.

Sure, the SLS has to be turned off, thru the ECU using a scanner with the proper software.
